Will I have to pay Duties or Tariffs now the UK has left the EU?

As the UK has now left the EU, duties may be charged as you import your Editors Keys items into your country.

The good news is that we no longer charge you any taxes, so the end price should work out the same as we used to charge before leaving the EU.

We're also looking at ways we can pay this duty for you on your behalf to speed up this process.

However some countries are charging import duty which is the equivalent of the tax we used to charge. As we go forward our plans are to open a new German office and fulfilment centre where all European orders will be shipped from.

The UK officially left the EU on the 1st of January 2021.

Source BBC:

The free trade deal between the UK and EU, announced on Christmas Eve, takes effect from 1 January.

What does the agreement mean?

What is a free trade deal?

A free trade deal aims to encourage trade - usually in goods but occasionally in services - by making it cheaper. This is often achieved by reducing or eliminating tariffs - taxes or charges by governments for trading goods across borders.

Trade agreements also aim to remove quotas - limits on the number of goods which can be traded.

Trade can also be made simpler if countries have the same rules, such as the colour of wires in plugs. The closer the rules are, the less likely that goods need to be checked.

Please note if you are ordering from outside Europe, Editors Keys does not charge you any taxes, so you are liable for your own countries import taxes when you import your items into your country. These can be as low as 0% however some countries such as India have much higher import duties.
