Why won’t Windows/OS recognise my Studio Series Microphone?

Modified on Thu, 20 Nov, 2014 at 4:55 PM

All Editors Keys Studio Series Microphones are plug and play which makes them easy to use and simple to install on any system.

If for any reason you're experiencing a problem, such as your computer not recognising the Microphone, it could be down to one of the following reasons:

  1. Check you have selected the microphone as the input device in your Control Panel / System Preferences and set the recording level to 80%.
  2. Check you have set the Studio Series Microphone as your input microphone on your computers audio/video software you'll be using to record.
  3. Check your USB cable isn't damaged. The Studio Series Microphones work with printer USB cables, so it's worth testing another before returning the microphone.
  4. Make sure you're using a USB 2.0 port or above. The Microphones will not function on USB 1.0 ports sometimes found on the front of PC towers

If the above solutions do not fix your problem please contact us as we can help you further or arrange a replacement.

If you're looking to improve the quality of your recordings, we also offer a great range of pop filters and Vocal Booths, which can be found here:
